Finding confidence is a journey that is unique to each individual. It requires self-reflection, patience, and a willingness to take risks. Confidence is not something that one is born with but learned and developed over time. In this blog post, we will explore some tips on how to find confidence.
Before reading on, I want to be completely honest with you. I still struggle with finding confidence, dealing with the ups & downs of life, and that wild emotional rollercoaster ride, but that is okay! These tips are not just for you, but a reminder for me as well.
5 Ways to Finding Confidence
1. Identify Your Strengths
The first step in finding confidence is to identify your strengths. What are you good at? What do you excel in? Make a list of your strengths and focus on them. By focusing on your strengths, you will feel more confident in your abilities. Pull out this list when you are having self-doubt or for daily reminders.
2. Practice Self-Care
Taking care of yourself is an important part of finding confidence. This includes getting enough sleep, exercising, a skincare routine, eating well, and taking time for yourself. Feeling good about yourself makes you more confident. I’m not saying you have to give up all guilty pleasures but find that balance, whatever that may look like for you.
3. Embrace Your Flaws
Nobody is perfect, and it's important to embrace your flaws! Instead of focusing on your imperfections, learn to love them. When you start to accept and embrace your flaws, your confidence will shine brighter than ever before!
4. Take Risks
It can be scary to try new things, but taking small risks can help build your confidence. When you step out of your comfort zone and try something new, you are proving to yourself that you are capable of more than you thought. Our fear and ego keep us from growing, from doing the imaginable. Recognize those feelings and let them go! Taking risks is an important part of finding confidence.
5. Surround Yourself with Positivity
Surrounding yourself with positive people and positive influences can help build your confidence. Avoid negative people and situations that make you feel bad about yourself. Instead, spend time with people who lift you up and encourage you. This pretty much goes hand in hand with learning boundaries. Sometimes we don’t know how to get away from toxic situations, but the book Boundaries, or Boundaries in Marriage have taught me so much!
In conclusion, finding confidence is a journey that requires patience and self-reflection. By identifying your strengths, practicing self-care, embracing your flaws, taking risks, and surrounding yourself with positivity, you can build the confidence to achieve your goals and live the life you desire.
